T4 · TEMPAT — T + EMPAT

S3-compatible object storage in Indonesia. Rp396/GB, no egress fees.

Keep backups, web assets and AI datasets on Dalang infrastructure in Indonesia. S3-compatible, so aws-cli, rclone and boto3 work as they are. No egress or request fees, billed in Rupiah with PPN invoices.

What it is for

Three jobs where S3 object storage with a predictable price fits best.

Backups and archives

Send server, database and working-folder backups with restic or rclone. Restores carry no egress fee, so you only pay for what is stored. Use it as a second copy off your main server.

Media and web assets

Photos, PDFs and site assets through presigned URLs or expiring share links. Visitors can read as much as they like with no bandwidth bill. Objects are capped at 100 MB for now.

Data and AI

Datasets of many small files with no per-request fee, read again and again for training with no egress fee. Start with small to mid-size datasets; larger capacity by contract.

Why T4

Rupiah billing, PPN invoices

Top up credit through a Xendit invoice and get a monthly bill in Rupiah with PPN itemised. No USD card, no exchange-rate surprises.

No egress, no request fees

Read and write as much as you need. GET, PUT and LIST are free, and there is no bandwidth bill.

The S3 API you already use

SigV4, presigned URLs and multipart upload. Point your endpoint at t4.dalang.io.

Data stays in Indonesia

Stored in Dalang Data Center Pandeglang, Banten, Indonesia (API region id-jkt-1). Useful when your team, customers or regulator ask where the data lives.

Start in three steps

  1. 1

Sign in with your Dalang account

No new password. Top up credit (minimum Rp50,000) through a Xendit invoice.

  2. 2

Create an API key and a bucket

From the web dashboard or straight through the S3 API. The secret is shown once.

  3. 3

Point your S3 client at T4

Change the endpoint to t4.dalang.io. Nothing else needs to change.

Object storage for the AI era

Public beta

Your datasets in Indonesia, with no bill every time they are read.

AI pipelines read the same data over and over: every epoch, every experiment, every evaluation. On T4 reading is free, with no egress and no per-request fee, however many files you have.

Ready today

  • S3 API to load and read datasets (aws-cli, rclone, boto3)
  • No per-request fee, fit for millions of small files
  • No egress for repeated training and pulling checkpoints
  • Data stored in Indonesia (region id-jkt-1)

Not yet available

  • Objects above 100 MB (dataset shards and large checkpoints)
  • Published throughput and latency benchmarks
  • Cross-site replication and an SLA

Petabyte scale? Custom plan, custom price.

From 1 PB, capacity is sold as an annual contract at a special price from our sales team. Needs above the account quota but below 1 PB are allocated through sales. Billed in Rupiah with PPN invoices, with data staying in Indonesia. Our design-partner programme is open for the first large workloads.

  • Annual contract with a special price from sales, from 1 PB
  • Contract and invoicing terms agreed with our sales team
  • Sizing workshop and a limited trial before you commit

Frequently asked questions

What is T4?

T4, read as TEMPAT (T + EMPAT, Indonesian for 4), is S3-compatible object storage from Dalang.io. You store files as objects in buckets through the S3 API or the web dashboard. It costs Rp396 per GB per month (NET) with no egress fee and no request fee. T4 is in public beta.

How much is 1 TB per month?

1 TB = 1,000 GB. At Rp396 per GB that is Rp396,000 NET for a full month. PPN 11% is Rp43,560, so the total is Rp439,560. Billing is based on hourly average usage.

How is T4 different from AWS S3 or Cloudflare R2?

T4 bills in Rupiah with PPN invoices, keeps data in Indonesia and charges no egress or request fees. R2 is also egress-free but charges per operation. On storage price alone, R2, Backblaze B2 and Wasabi are cheaper per GB than T4; see the dated, sourced comparison table.

Where is my data stored?

In Dalang Data Center, Pandeglang, Banten, Indonesia, operated by PT Mashanz Sumber Terbuka. The API region name id-jkt-1 is only a label; the region a client signs for does not change where data is stored.

Is my data replicated? Is there an SLA?

Not yet fully. T4 replicates object data across two racks (010), but has no object backup, HA or SLA; master, filer and S3 remain single instances. Use T4 as an additional copy, not the only copy of data you cannot replace.

What happens if my credit runs out?

Writing data needs a positive balance (at least Rp1). If the monthly debit leaves exactly Rp0, new storage stops without any debt. If an amount goes unpaid there is a 10-day grace period during which data is kept and top-up stays available; after that objects are deleted and the invoice remains.

Which S3 clients work?

Any S3 client with SigV4 and a path-style endpoint. aws-cli, boto3 and rclone are tested; a restic example is in the documentation. Endpoint https://t4.dalang.io, region id-jkt-1.

How do I buy petabyte capacity?

The self-serve account quota is 50 GB for now. For more capacity, contact Dalang sales. From 1 PB it is an annual contract with a special price, starting with a sizing workshop.
